Lip Blush – Grandville Medical

Lip Blush is a form of Permanent Makeup (PMU) used to enhance the natural lip shape, symmetry, and color. A customized pigment is applied to add definition to your lips and conceal imperfections based on your skin tone and personal preference. Think of it as your lip color, but subtly enhanced, your lips will have a fresh natural pink/red lip tint appearance that stays on and keeps you looking your best.

During Lip Blush procedure;
We define the lip border and cupids bow and then add a wash of custom blended color to the lip but without the obvious lip border.
We blend a pigment that will be the most flattering to your skin tone and the type of shade that you prefer. We then draw the lip template, making the lips more even in shape and as full as possible.
Due to new techniques, the color is lightly implanted using very fine needles, this is not only far more comfortable for the client but also give a modern look of a ‘tint’ rather than the outdated lipstick look of previous years. This treatment leaves the lips looking fuller, more youthful and without the need for lipstick.

Before treatment
A consultation takes place at the time of your appointment to understand the realistic expectations of permanent makeup and skin suitability. We will then draw on your makeup and create a stencil of how you want your desired shape. A before photo is taken, and consent forms filled out while the numbing process is started. Throughout the procedure, topical anesthetic will be re-applied keeping you comfortable. When the treatment is finished some aftercare cream will be applied. You will be advised and given an aftercare leaflet. The treatment area may feel sensitive after treatment, you may also have some swelling which should settle down within a few hours.

Important Notes:
Your lips will look like lipstick on the first day, and soften as they heal to become a very subtle, natural looking lip tint. Apply a little gloss or balm and your lips look beautiful 24-7!
If you are prone to cold sores, lip blushing can cause outbreaks. We ask that our clients take their prescribed anti-viral medication a few days prior to their appointment and after the procedure to prevent any cold sores.

What to Expect?

• There may be moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 3 days. • If you experience swelling, use an ice pack for no more than 15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling. • During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own. This usually takes place within the first 3 days. • Expect the pigment color to lighten up to 50-70% once the healing process is complete. • Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results. • Permanent makeup ink is not the same as body art ink, and by design it does not last as long as body art ink. Permanent Makeup does fade and is expected to last 2 to 5 years before requiring a touch-up. Maintenance touch ups are suggested for best results. • It can take 3/4 sessions to achieve the level of saturation you may desire.
