Gallbladder Removal (Cholecystectomy) – Lasting Relief from Gallstone Pain

Safe, Expert Surgery to Treat Gallstones, Infections & Gallbladder Disease
The gallbladder is a small organ beneath the liver that stores bile — a fluid that helps digest fat. Sometimes, it forms gallstones, which can cause pain, infection, and serious complications. When gallstones cause symptoms, the most effective treatment is surgical removal of the gallbladder, also known as a cholecystectomy.
At Grandville Medical & Laser, our skilled surgeons perform both laparoscopic (keyhole) and open cholecystectomy, using modern techniques to ensure fast recovery, minimal scarring, and long-term comfort.
When Is Gallbladder Removal Needed?
✅ Gallstones (cholelithiasis) causing pain or blockages
✅ Gallbladder infection (cholecystitis)
✅ Pancreatitis caused by gallstones
✅ Gallbladder polyps or sludge
✅ Biliary dyskinesia (poor gallbladder function)
✅ Suspected gallbladder cancer (rare)
Common Symptoms Requiring Evaluation
  • Pain in the upper right abdomen (often after eating)
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Bloating or indigestion
  • Fever or chills (if infected)
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes)
Gallbladder attacks can be severe and unpredictable — don’t wait until it becomes an emergency.
How We Perform Gallbladder Surgery at Grandville
🔹 Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (Preferred Option)
  • Minimally invasive – 3–4 small incisions
  • Uses a camera and instruments to remove the gallbladder
  • Less pain, faster recovery, minimal scarring
  • Typically done as a same-day or overnight procedure
🔹 Open Cholecystectomy (When Needed)
  • Required if the gallbladder is severely inflamed or scarred
  • One incision under the right ribcage
  • Slightly longer recovery, but safe and effective
What to Expect Before & After Surgery
📋 Before Surgery
  • Pre-operative blood tests and abdominal ultrasound
  • Fasting for several hours
  • Discussion of medical history and anesthesia

Lip Reduction Surgery at Grandville Medical & Laser – Sculpted Confidence. Natural Harmony.

At Grandville Medical & Laser, we believe in the power of balance and subtle refinement. For clients who feel their lips are excessively prominent or out of proportion with their facial features, lip reduction surgery offers a permanent solution that enhances natural beauty while preserving individuality.
What is Lip Reduction Surgery?
Lip reduction is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at reducing the size and bulkiness of the lips—upper, lower, or both. It involves carefully planned removal of excess lip tissue to achieve a more proportionate, symmetrical, and aesthetically pleasing result.
Our Technique
At Grandville, lip reduction is performed under general anesthesia for maximum comfort. The procedure involves:
  • Careful preoperative marking to outline the precise area of reduction based on individual facial anatomy.
  • Tissue excision from the inner aspect of the lip.
  • Layered closure, ensuring optimal healing, minimal scarring, and a natural-looking result.
  • Open dressing applied post-procedure to allow airflow and promote recovery.
Post-Operative Follow-Up
Recovery is closely monitored with scheduled follow-up visits on:
  • Day 5
  • Day 10
  • Day 14
Patients are provided with clear instructions regarding oral hygiene, diet, activity, and wound care. Most clients resume light activities within a few days, and swelling typically subsides over 1–2 weeks.
Ideal Candidates
You may consider lip reduction if:
  • Your lips feel too bulky or protruding
  • You desire better symmetry or balance with your facial features
  • You wish to reverse the effects of previous lip augmentation
  • You’re looking for a permanent change through a well-controlled, professional procedure

Post Operative Care

Postoperative care is the care you receive after a surgical procedure. It is a vital aspect of patient care which we take seriously at Grandville medical and laser. It often includes, recovery from Anaesthesia , pain management , wound care and management of other co-morbidities. The goal of postoperative care is to prevent complications, promote healing of the surgical site/s, and to ensure that you return to a good state of health.

The type of care you will receive depends on the type of surgery you intend to have, as well as your pre existing health history.

Postoperative care for most people usually begins immediately after surgery. In our facility, It begins right from the first consultation in the doctors office, in the theater and lasts through the duration of your hospital stay and continues after you’ve been discharged.

As part of your postoperative care, during consultation, you are provided with Read more “Post Operative Care”

General Anaesthesia- Allay your fears

You might have heard cases of people waking up in the middle of a major surgery or people passing on from anaesthesia. As a surgeon, I get a lot of request from patients who are afraid to go under the General anaesthesia because of these incidences. They request to have their procedures done under Local Anaesthesia which leaves them widely awake but with partially deadened part of the body to be operated upon.

For patients who asks for this option of anaesthetic, I tell them that we do not employ that form of anaesthesia for certain procedures because of the following reasons: If Read more “General Anaesthesia- Allay your fears”

Thinking of Cosmetic Surgery

THINKING COSMETIC SURGERY ?

It is not uncommon to have people walk into the clinic for consultation holding tightly to a portrait of how they want to look immediately after waking up from anesthesia.”Doctor , this is how i want to look”. It would seem as though cosmetic surgery would transform an alligator into a butterfly.

People get cosmetic surgery for many reasons. Some want to look younger. Others seek to change a body feature they’ve never liked, some aim at restoring their confidence after losing their former selves to natural events like pregnancy, ageing or previous botched surgeries while some others just totally want to run away from themselves into a brand new body.

While the decision is a personal one, it is important to note Read more “THINKING COSMETIC SURGERY ?”

What you need to know about skin grafting?

What is a skin grafting?
Skin grafting is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of a healthy skin tissue from one area of the body and moving it, or transplanting it, to a different area of the body.
A skin graft is the healthy skin taken from an area of your body called the donor site. The skin may be taken from an area near the injury to match the area where the graft will be placed. Grafts that are artificial or come from another person or animal may be used temporarily. These are used as covers when large areas of the skin are damaged. They are replaced with your own skin over time. Read more “What you need to know about skin grafting?”

Gynecomastia (Man Boobs)

I ran into an old secondary school mate the other day and we decided to catch up on old times. We laughed over a lot of things, over stupid pranks we played on each other as youngsters, over fights we had, and over all manna of mischievous activities. We also recalled how he was often teased on end over his “man boobs”.
Oh boy, we gave the guy some serious hard time and would often taunt him with girlish names. He joined us in JSS 3 and as a new student, he would often erupt into violent tempers and attempt to fight everyone but as he realised that students were not likely to relent, as long as he was a student in that school, he decided to stop fighting us, get used to it and even joined us in making fun of himself.

Dr Laser’s Diary Brazilian Butt Lift- Enhancing a Woman’s Sexuality.

As a plastic surgeon, I have met, conversed and even counselled countless number of women over the years and I have come to the conclusion that a woman’s joy and fulfilment is tantamount to the perception she has about herself and frankly speaking, physical beauty plays a major role in defining this perception.

For this reason, my work as a body sculptor has brought me great satisfaction. I get satisfaction and joy from the reaction on the faces of my patients when they see their new bodies, from every letter they write me, from their testimonials, from stories of marriages been fixed, and ultimately from all the women we have helped achieve body goals.
