Breast Augmentation/Reduction Information

Many women are dissatisfied with the size and shape of their breasts. Naturally small, excessively large, or deflated breasts can make it difficult to find properly fitting clothing and can negatively impact a woman's self-esteem. At our clinic, we have performed thousands of breast augmentations, helping women achieve the shapely, voluminous breasts they desire.

With increasing awareness of body image and beauty, women are becoming more concerned about the appearance of their breasts after childbirth. Gone are the days when people didn't care about how their breasts looked after having children. Breasts can become ptotic (when the nipple-areola complex is below the inframammary fold and the breast has lost its firmness).

Most breast changes can be addressed using natural body derivatives, such as harvested fat, or with silicone breast implants. Studies over the years have shown that silicone breast implants are safe and are not associated with any form of cancer.

An initial consultation is required, during which the procedure will be explained in detail. Following your initial consultation, you are welcome to book two additional consultations to review or clarify any information provided. Any subsequent consultations will incur a fee. Please inform your doctor during your consultation about any medications you are taking, whether prescribed or over-the-counter. If you have any concerns about the procedure, please do not hesitate to discuss them with us.
When you are ready to proceed with the procedure, you will receive a bill. Please note that your procedure will only be scheduled after payment confirmation. Following payment, you will be scheduled for blood tests to ensure your fitness for the procedure. Additional tests may be required if you have other medical conditions. Adults over 40 are required to undergo a chest X-ray and echocardiography to rule out any heart or chest problems. This screening is not a definitive diagnosis, and you may be asked to undergo further investigations based on the doctor's evaluation. Please be prepared to provide any information that may be helpful during your procedure. Please also note that payments made for any procedure are non-refundable but can be applied towards other services.
Before the procedure, the anesthesiologist will ask you some questions to ensure your safety. An intravenous line (or lines) will be placed in your upper or lower limb for medication administration. In some cases, a central line may be used if the peripheral veins are not accessible. You will be fully draped throughout the procedure to protect your privacy.
1. You will need to fast for at least 6 hours before your procedure. For major surgery, you should not consume any food or water after midnight on the day of your procedure. For minor surgery, a shorter fasting period may be required. You will be clearly informed of any changes to these guidelines. If you have any questions, please ask one of our doctors. 2. If you are taking any prescribed medications (e.g., for hypertension or diabetes), please inform your doctor so they can advise you on how to take them or the best method of administration before your procedure. Special markings will be made on your body to identify the specific areas for fat removal during surgery. 3. We routinely take before-and-after photos for both medical and legal purposes. In some cases, we may use or post some of these photos to raise awareness about the procedure. Please be assured that your face will not be shown in any of these photos. We may also create live videos to educate others and the community about certain procedures. During any of these processes, you will be fully draped to protect your privacy. We respect your preferences regarding how your body is handled during the procedure(s). If you are not comfortable with any aspect of this, please inform us before your procedure. 4. In the operating room, you will meet the support team for your procedure. 5. You will be asked to sign an informed consent form for the procedure. We cannot proceed without this signed consent. The form can also be signed by another adult on your behalf. We will also need to confirm that you are not pregnant before the procedure, as we cannot rely solely on laboratory tests. We have occasionally seen both false positive and false negative results. We also advise that you bring an adult with you to your procedure for support before and after. 6. If you smoke, you must stop at least 21 days before your procedure. Smoking increases your risk of bleeding, prolongs healing time, and increases the likelihood of complications. 7. You will be cleaned in the operating room before your procedure.
Potential complications from this procedure include pain, scarring, itching, swelling, infection, bleeding under the skin, anesthesia-related issues or numbness, bruising, skin sagging, fibrosis (usually under the skin), keloid scars, and hypertrophic scars. Please be assured that this is a relatively safe procedure. We care about your safety, health, and the outcome of your surgery.
We strongly advise that you plan your procedure carefully before deciding on a specific date. We understand that changes may sometimes be unavoidable, but our clinic operates on a schedule, and any changes incur costs for the hospital and our organization. Therefore, if you choose to change or cancel your procedure, the clinic will deduct an inconvenience fee of three hundred thousand naira (₦300,000) from your balance. If you change the date, the blood test will need to be repeated at a cost of seventy thousand naira (₦70,000).
